Sample Seven Day Tour - Art and Design (Barcelona)
Day 1
Depart school. Shuttle crossing to France and onward journey to Barcelona with regular stops.
Late evening arrival in Barcelona and transfer to the hotel.
Our children will be in 2/3/4 bedded rooms, all in single beds. Talk on fire procedures.
Evening meal.
Day 2
Breakfast and onward transfer via the Olympic Stadium to the Poble Espanyol. During the morning visit, we will look at the dramatic difference in architecture throughout Spain.
After lunch, the group will visit the Miro Museum where the group will complete a task and then there will be a visit to Parc Guell, where many of Gaudi’s works are to be seen.
There will then be an onward transfer tothe Sagrada Familia, a Gaudi masterpiece.
Finally, we will return to the hotel for our evening meal.
Day 3
After our breakfast, the group will depart for Montserrat, one of the holiest places in Catalonia. This monastery is surrounded by chapels and hermits caves. The group will reach Montserrat by cable car.
We will then leave Montserrat for an afternoon at a water park or a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona.
Return to our accommodation and evening meal. Evening activity: disco.
Day 4
After our breakfast, the group will transfer tothe Pau Casals Museum in Sant Salvador before heading for Barcelonaand Barcelona Cathedral.
There will then be a visit to one of the world’s leading concert halls – the Palau de la Música.
The group will stroll down the famous Ramblas, arriving at the monument to Christopher Columbus, who landed at this spot on his return from discovering the New World.
There will be also an opportunity to go to the Picasso Museum.
Return to the hotel with a visit to ‘the slide’ en route.
Evening meal.
Day 5
Breakfast, followed by a swim in the pool before our transfer to Port Aventura, a popular theme park.
Return to Barcelona for our evening meal. Evening of Flamenco.
Day 6
The morning will be spent at leisure using the hotel swimming pool and other recreational facilities nearby.
We will then commence the journey to England. Evening meal en route not provided.
Day 7
Onward journey to England, arriving at school at the latest 10:00.
