Sample Eight Day Tour - Modern Languages (Barcelona)
We are committed to creating an itinerary which will enthuse pupils and encourage a positive outlook towards the country they are studying. All of our modern languages tours can include lessons, workstudies and practical tasks promoting the use of the target language wherever possible.
Day 1
Depart school at 14:00. Shuttle crossing to France and onward journey to Barcelona with regular stops.
Day 2
Afternoon arrival in Barcelona and transfer to the hotel.
Our children will be all in single beds. Talk on fire procedures.
Evening meal.
Day 3
Breakfast, language lesson and onward transfer to the Poble Espanyol.
The group will then head past the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona before a visit to the Miró Museum and postcard activity.
We will then transfer to Parc Guell for lunch. Many of Gaudi’s works are to be seen here.
Finally, we walk around the Sagrada Familia, a Gaudi masterpiece.
Opportunity to swim in the hotel pool before the evening meal.
Evening activity – chocolate con churros!
Day 4
After our breakfast and language lesson, the group will transfer to Barcelona.
Visit to a local market under the instruction of the Tour Director.
The group will then stroll down the famous Ramblas, arriving at the monument to Christopher Columbus, who landed at this spot on his return from discovering the New World.
Visit to the Port Vell area.
Finally, there will be a transfer to the Museum of Barcelona Football Clubbefore returning to the hotel for supper and a swim in the pool. Evening activity – bowling or ‘The Slide’.
Day 5
After our breakfast and language lesson, the group will depart for Montserrat, one of the holiest places in Catalonia. This monastery is surrounded by chapels and hermits caves. The group will reach Montserrat by cable car. A worksheet will need to be completed here.
We will spend the afternoon at leisure at Aquapark.
Return to the hotel for our evening meal. Flamenco Evening!
Day 6
Breakfast, followed by a swim in the pool and an opportunity to buy stamps to complete the postcard activity.
Transfer to Port Aventura, a popular theme park.
Return to the hotel and our evening meal.Evening activity - disco night!
Day 7
The morning will be spent at leisure using the hotel swimming pool and the beach before commencing the journey to England.
Day 8
Onward journey to England, arriving at school from 08:00 onwards.
