Sample Five Day Tour - Modern Languages (Strasbourg)

We are committed to creating an itinerary which will enthuse pupils and encourage a positive outlook towards the country they are studying. All of our modern languages tours can include lessons, workstudies and practical tasks promoting the use of the target language wherever possible.

Day 1
Depart school on executive coach. Coffee  making, DVD and toilet facilities on board. Shuttle crossing to France
There will be an opportunity to stop en route at a destination agreed with the group leader.
Arrival at our hotel in Strasbourg and evening meal nearby. The children will be in 2/3 bedded rooms with television and en suite facilities.
There will be a talk on fire procedures this evening. 

Day 2
After breakfast and a language lesson, we will depart for the centre of the cosmopolitan city of Strasbourg, often called the ‘crossroads of Europe’ and the largest and most ancient town of Alsace.
First of all the group will visit the 16th. Century centre and the cathedral. The group will have an opportunity to go to the top of this building for views across Strasbourg.  The group will then enjoy a boat trip and we will visit  the Astronomical Clock at noon.
After our picnic lunch, we will head past the Council of Europe Headquarters and the European Parliament for the impressive and the only completely restored castle in Alsace - Haut Konigsburg. Guided visit here.
Time permitting, there may be an opportunity for the group to explore the picturesque village of Riquewihr on the return where we will complete a study. This will encourage the children to look around them at signs and gather information about different types of buildings and shops.
Evening meal in Colmar and a chance to do some shopping.
Return to our accommodation. 

Day 3
Breakfast and lesson. The group will then depart for across the border in Germany - the open air museumat Gutach.Time permitting, we will then see the world’s largest cuckoo clock at Triberg before a spectacular cable car ride - the longest in Germany, giving views of the Swiss Alps, Vosges and the Black Forest – at Schauinsland.
Return to France anda visit to a chocolate factory  
Evening meal in Illkirch then return to the centre of Strasbourg. We will then explore the old quarter of Petite France.

Day 4
Breakfast and departure for the Europa theme park.
Full day visit, evening meal and return to the accommodation.

Day 5
Breakfast and departure for the United Kingdom. On the return journey, the group will be able to visit a hypermarket for any last minute shopping.
Shuttle crossing and lunch provided.
Evening arrival at school at approximately 11pm
